The October fix that saves the November scramble
Every year the same list surfaces in the third week of November, and every year it was fixable in October.
Doors that stick. Humidity moves them all summer; they need adjustment, not replacement.
The guest bath. Loose towel bar, running toilet, a vanity light with two dead bulbs and no matching third.
Handrails. The one on the basement stairs that has been loose for two years and is genuinely a safety issue with a house full of people.
Exterior lighting. Guests arriving after dark on a walkway nobody can see.
The stored dining chairs that need gluing, and the leaf for the table that does not sit flush.
Why October: our calendar in the second half of November is the tightest of the year, and so is every other trade's. The same list booked six weeks earlier is a single relaxed visit.
