Six Questions Worth Asking Before You Hire
What we wish more homeowners asked us
Most of these are questions we wish more people asked us.
Are you insured, and can I see it? Insured and licensed are different things and the distinction matters. We are fully insured. We are not a licensed contractor, which is exactly why permit-scale work gets coordinated with licensed specialists rather than attempted.
Who is actually coming to my house? Some outfits subcontract every job. Ask for a name.
Is the estimate a number or a range? A range is a way of not committing. Ask what happens if it goes over.
What is excluded? This is the most useful question on the list and almost nobody asks it.
Do you take a deposit, and what does it cover? We do, on every job. It holds the calendar slot and covers materials bought ahead.
What happens if something goes wrong after you leave? Get the answer before the work, not after.
