The honest answer to "what do you charge" is that it depends on the job, not the clock — and here is why that is better for you.
Why we price by the job, not the hour. Charging by the clock punishes you for our efficiency and rewards a slow crew. When we quote the job, the risk of it taking longer sits with us.
The setup cost is real and it is fixed. Loading, driving, parking, protecting floors, and packing out happens once whether we fix one thing or eleven. That is why a ten-item list is dramatically cheaper per item than ten separate visits.
Materials are quoted separately and at cost. You see what the part costs. We are not marking up a faucet.
What makes a job cost more: access (a second-storey fascia board versus a ground-floor one), unknowns behind a wall, matching old materials nobody stocks, and anything that has been patched badly before.
What a real estimate should contain: the scope in plain words, what is excluded, and a number you agree to before anyone starts. If an estimate does not say what is excluded, it is not an estimate.
